I graduated from the University of Salford with a degree in Popular Music in 1997. I then went on to have a full-time career in music as a performer. I spent 7 years on tour working as a musical director for Holland America Cruise Line and also Cirkus Benneweis in Denmark.
My career was cut short when I developed RSI and it took me several years to return to playing during which time I trained as an Alexander Technique Teacher (see my other site here) and built up another career as a college lecturer at Mid Cheshire College where I was course leader for both Music and Music Technology.
Once back to full health, I returned to performing both on Piano/Keyboards and also Sousaphone (See my performing page here) and still have a hectic performing schedule.
I have been teaching privately across South Manchester since 2003 and have always maintained a busy teaching practice. I live with my wife (also a piano teacher!) and my two young children in Heaton Mersey.
